Protecting Our Kids,
Electing our Future.

Educators devote their lives to our children and our future.

But the voices and experiences of educators are woefully absent
from the halls of power where decisions about our schools are made.

Join with the movement to elect educators everywhere and ensure teachers, professors, counselors, and education support professionals have their rightful seats at the table.

We Believe in the Power of Teachers & Educators

Educators have long occupied a treasured position in American culture, serving not only as instructors, but also caregivers, counselors and mentors of our young people. And yet, though they occupy this position trust and appreciation, too often they remain afterthoughts when it comes to national policy and Congressional representation. If we want to truly make an impact, we need to change that paradigm by electing more educators to public office.

Lack of Educator Representation

Despite being a highly respected profession held by millions of people, we suffer from a shocking lack of representation of educators among elected officials.

  • Only 7 of the 49 members of the U.S. House committee with jurisdiction over education issues have taught or worked in our schools.

  • Only 2 members of the K-12 Subcommittee have taught in the K-12 public schools.

Without Educators, Privatization Expands

When educators running for office don't raise enough money to get their message out, they tend not to win. When we lose, the budget-cutters and educator-silencers are happy.

Educators running for office don't know hundreds of people who can give $5,000 personal contributions. But with 6 million educators in America, if we all give what we can, there are enough of us to win.

Learn about the Elect Educators Solution

We're building a community of educators and allies of public education who want to see more educators run, win and represent us. It's past time for educators to be at the table.

By working together and contributing to EEE and to educator candidates, we can ensure that educators running in competitive elections get their message out and have the best chance to win.

The Challenge.

Educators are too rarely elected to public office primarily because they don't have a network of $1,000 and $2,500 donors. As a result, policy and funding decisions are made by non-educators. Educators are being forced to risk their lives inside schools this fall, just the latest example of poor policy decisions made about but without educators.

The Opportunity.

There are 4 million teachers and 2 million more educators, like education support professionals, college faculty and counselors.

When an educator running for Congress needs to raise $250,000, they usually don't know 100 friends who can give $2,500 each, but we can recruit 5,000 educators to give $50 each, we can make the difference.
