Debra Gardner will fight to give all students a quality education

  • Personal Commitment

Debra Gardner's grandmother couldn’t read or write, but she taught her granddaughter the
    importance of education.

Debra understands that public schools can be the ultimate equalizer, no matter what a student's background is. That’s why she was a leader with Smart Beginnings of Greater Richmond.

  • Experienced Leader

As a former educator, social worker and PTA mom, Debra has the experience to know what students, parents, and educators need to thrive.

She’s worked with Democrats and Republicans to find solutions and deliver results, and that’s exactly what we need in a Delegate.

  • Practical Plans

Supporting students and improving schools requires solid, tested ideas, not empty sound bites.

That’s why Debra is focused what educators know works: making early childhood education more accessible, raising teacher pay, and expanding access to vocational programs and job training.

Working with Educators

As a product of public schools and former adjunct professor, Debra Gardner has felt the impact great educators can have on their students from both sides of the classroom. That’s why she’s committed to fully funding public schools and increasing teacher pay, to a living wage for all education support professionals, and a safe school environment for students and educators alike.

Listening to Parents

As a public school parent, Debra volunteered in her child’s schools and was a member of the PTA from Kindergarten to graduation. She’s translated parents’ desires for their kids into real solutions:

  • To make sure every child is ready to learn, Debra will make early childhood education ore accessible so kids start Kindergarten prepared for success.

  • To ensure we have the best educators, Debra will fight to raise teacher pay and support continuing education for teachers.

  • To keep our kids safe, Debra supports maintaining school property as gun-free zones and ensuring we have more school nurses and counselors.

Roxann Robinson is putting students in danger

Our schools are at a crossroads - more than ever before, we need leaders working to keep students, parents, and teachers safe. But Delegate Roxann Robinson is doing the opposite.

  • She supports radical politicians who spread lies about vaccines and masks, endangering students and making it harder to keep schools open.

  • She’s become just another right-wing politician, voting 93% of the time with those who try to cut education funding. She even voted against making school property gun-free zones.

Robinson is willing to put students and their families at risk to score cheap political points. This year, we must reject her dangerous, right-wing extremism.
